Overview

The EP PerMed Education Call 2025 is a funding initiative aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals (HCPs) in personalized medicine (PM). The program seeks to address the knowledge gaps in PM, which are seen as major obstacles to its effective integration into clinical practice. This opportunity allows consortiums of eligible organizations to develop educational content for HCPs, covered under a total budget of €300,000, with grants of up to €50,000 available for each project.

Eligible applicants include academic institutions, organizations in the clinical and public health sectors, private companies, and relevant stakeholders such as NGOs and medical societies. However, partners within the existing EP PerMed consortium and private individuals are excluded from participation. Each consortium must consist of at least two independent organizations from different EU Member States or Horizon Europe-associated countries, with a maximum of five members.

Proposals must focus on developing educational modules that will be delivered through an online platform, specifically targeting topics such as enhancing PM knowledge for general practitioners, exploring the impact of PM on oncology and cardiovascular diseases, interdisciplinary collaboration among HCPs, and improving communication skills with patients. The projects will follow a development stage where selected teams will create online course content intended to be completed within 12 months.

The application process is competitive, involving a single-stage submission along with an eligibility check, online pitching, and evaluations. Only proposals scoring at least 70 out of 100 will be eligible for funding. The success rate of the call is competitive, with the likelihood of selecting up to six projects based on the scoring and the number of applicants.

Funding is structured as a lump-sum grant, with 50% paid upfront and the remaining half after submission and approval of the final report. Importantly, there are no co-funding requirements imposed on applicants.

To apply, proposals need to be submitted before the deadline of September 9, 2025, with all applications required to be in English and properly formatted using the provided templates. Furthermore, all proposed modules must be relevant to a European audience and should not exceed the funding cap of €50,000, where costs associated with learning management systems and marketing are not covered.

Overall, this call presents a significant opportunity for healthcare organizations to contribute to the advancement of PM education, promoting better health outcomes through informed and trained HCPs. Interested applicants can find further information and guidelines through the EP PerMed website.
